When I began training in Kung Fu in 1984, I never imagined that nearly four decades later, I would still be just as excited and grateful to be a student of the arts as I was that first day. My martial arts journey has taken me across the threshold of numerous schools, placed me at the feet of fantastic teachers and mentors, and given me lifelong friends. Perhaps most importantly, I have been able to share the arts with my family, practice them as an expression of my faith, and watch them transform countless lives. As I reflect on my path, I cannot imagine my life without the challenges and rewards that come with being a student of the principles and practices found in every style and expression of the arts. I am privileged to share my experience with those who, like me, find a greater purpose in learning and applying the lessons and enjoying the rewards that come with humility, discipline, respect, and honor.
